The Franklin County Re-Entry Initiative is a win-win for any entity that would wish to become involved in this worth-while program. I count it a privilege to take part in an organization that genuinely and practically offers help to people coming out of incarceration. This initiative offers more than just a pat on the back and a few dollars intended to help the individual stay out of the criminal justice system. This initiative take a holistic view of the individual needs of the person and creates a network of support systems that walks with the person to a point in their life that they can become productive, self-sustaining, and positive members of our community. This initiative takes a broad approach to help rebuild the individual’s life and considers every aspect of life that can lead a person back into the criminal justice system. I am personally encouraged by this effort and I believe this will continue to be a successful approach to reduce recidivism.
From the perspective of the Louisburg Police Department, as well as all of the law enforcement community, we support this good work. From my personal perspective, it brings me great joy to see someone, who was once a drug addict or who regularly was getting arrested for something, turn their life around and become successful, productive citizens. This is why I made this my life’s work. The Franklin County Re-Entry Initiative seems to be the mechanism that brings together all of the different pieces of a person’s life and systematically helps them put their pieces back together. This is a faith-based initiative and in this same spirit, God our father made it possible for us to find a way to be restored to Himself through sacrifice. In this same way, we are called to help other people in need and the Franklin County Re-Entry Initiative is a bold step forward in helping people.
Thank you to everyone who has worked through many obstacles to get this program up and running. May God continue to bless the efforts of this team!
